I am so excited to talk to you about some of the new Makeup Geek shadows I got in my last order. This order was placed nearly a month ago and I’ve been patiently waiting for it to arrive over the Christmas period haha. I got some shadows that I’d been needing for a while and some that, like in a previous Makeup Geek order, are shadows similar to another palette that I wanted to order but didn’t. I hope that you enjoy the post and maybe it might help you with a future Makeup Geek order.
Here are the shadows I got. I bought them because there was a free shipping deal on and I always like to buy when there’s free shipping. I bought six regular eyeshadows and one foiled.
The shadows that I picked up were Bitten, Peach Smoothie, Mango Tango, Glass Slipper, Mocha, Graphite and the foiled shadow is Day Dreamer, which I got for $6 instead of $10.
I bought five of these colours with the idea that I might be able to make a similar palette to the limited edition Sugarpill Edward Scissorhands palette. It would actually be cheaper for me to just buy the Edward Scissorhands palette but I watched reviews on it and they kept saying that certain shades were just not of the same quality as others and for the price, you’d hope that they’re all of good quality, like regular Sugarpill shadows. So, I thought I’d try to make something similar out of Makeup Geek shadows.
So here is what the Sugarpill palette looks like. I really struggled with the blue and the coral colour in the palette because Makeup Geek doesn’t have a baby blue colour that it quite like it so I just went with something that was close and also something that I would wear. The same can be said for the coral shade. Mango Tango is honestly the closest I could find to it. I’m pretty happy with what I achieved overall though.
Here is my Makeup Geek version of the palette. So the colours are:
Top Row: Glass Slipper, Ice Queen, Graphite
Bottom Row: Mango Tango, Peach Smoothie, Mocha
Here are the swatches of all of my new shades!
L to R: Peach Smoothie, Mango Tango, Bitten, Mocha, Glass Slipper, Day Dreamer, Graphite.
I used Peach Smoothie and Mocha yesterday, along with a few of my other Makeup Geek shadows and I created my most favourite makeup look of life. You couldn’t see the eyeshadow in the photo because the angle made my hooded eyes hide all of my effort, but I felt amazing nonetheless. The photo can be found on my Instagram if you’re interested.
I really want to try Day Dreamer in my inner corner as a pop of colour highlight. I think it would look really cool and I’ve never done that sort of thing before. I’m also very excited to finally have Bitten because I feel like it is the most raved about shade that Makeup Geek makes and I am just so in love. I feel like I am complete now that I have it haha.
Here is my current Makeup Geek collection. It is getting exciting seeing it look so full!
So there we go guys! Another Makeup Geek order done and I’m still so in love with the brand.
I hope that you’re having an amazing day!
